Loving Summer Concerts

This blog is going to mark the beginning of many very similar to it in the weeks to come. I have deemed this summer for me as the "Summer of Concerts." I have bought tickets to quite a few concerts as well as working the Waukesha County Fair and they have three good concerts. Well last night, I went to Concerts in the Gardens at Whitnall Park and listened to the collaboration between the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and The Gufs. This was probably the best collaboration that I have heard - not that I have too much experience with them, but I have seen a few. They complimented each other so well, plus the weather was gorgeous and the bugs weren't too bad. I'm definitely considering going next week for the steel drum band and some Carribean flava! Next concert I'm scheduled to attend would be at the Waukesha County Fair, July 18 (Everclear & Soul Asylum), but their is a Bon Jovi tribute band on a side stage the Thursday before and I'll have to check them out! And if I don't see you there, I'll let you know how it was.

I have also decided that I'm going to go back to Weight Watchers to help myself get on the right track. I just don't have the right mindset to eat healthy and remember portion size, etc. I think that even 6 weeks will really help me. (mind you the donut my co-worker brought in today was mighty tasty, but I made it last and it took me an hour to finish the whole thing - yes, I still ate it, but I really savored it because its my last junk for awhile) Also, I am really really really gonna try and do something active everyday. That means a walk, bike ride or rollerblading excursion. Or maybe even throwing around a baseball, football or some other sport. Just getting my metabolism back up will help me a bit. I have already cut way back on the soda and drink a lot of water everyday, so that helps.

Oh and of course I have a restaurant to tell you about. My mom, grandma and I went to Charcoal Grill on Tuesday night. I know I have been there before, but it had been awhile. Our server was super friendly and bubbly. I ordered a petite sirloin and it was really good for the first three bites, but then really tasted dried out and overdone. My mom's southwest salad looked amazing and my grandma had grilled chicken. Overall it was a good meal, including the bread with melted butter on top of it and cinamon butter on the side! I would recommend it and I guess I know where I need to go to get a good steak now - The Steak Out, Packing House or Porter House!

Until next time - ciao!
