Waukesha County Fair

If you didn't know, my day job at the advertising agency has me working press and media relations for my client the Waukesha County Fair. This year's Fair is already proving to outshine last year's greatly. Much brainstorming and discussion went into the off-season to make this year's Fair not the same-old, same-old. Closer to the Fair I'll have better updates but for now, I just want to highlight a few of the new things that I think are really awesome:

1 - Thursday Mainstage is back with a bang -TED NUGENT performs at 7:30
We haven't had a mainstage on Thursday night in quite sometime, so bringing it back with the infamous Mr. Nugent is the only way to do it. The concert is FREE with your paid Fair admission, but if you want to get up close to "The Man" you can purchase VIP seating for $15. http://waukeshacountyfair.com/pages/mainstage.htm

2 - Sea Lion Splash Show - Last year we had sharks and this year we have the loveable sea lions to make us smile and laugh as they put on a great show that runs every day of the Fair. This show is FREE with paid Fair admission and with multiple shows daily, make sure you get to see it at least once! http://waukeshacountyfair.com/pages/events.htm

3 - Waukesha County Fair Top Singer Contest - If you are between the ages of 16 and 28 and think you have the pipes to be the best at the Fair, you have the chance to win $250 and sing before The Guess Who on the Main Stage. Just send a YouTube click and your contact information to info@waukeshacountyfair.com and you could be a top contestant. Share with your friends if they have a killer voice too! Deadline for entries is June 30th. http://waukeshacountyfair.com/pages/top_singer.htm

4 - Ag Adventure Area - This year's Ag Adventure Area has been expanded beyond its tent to include a trout fishing pond, farm animal petting zoo, and more. Details to come but the trout pond is definitely something I'm excited to watch. Can't wait to see the joy on a child's face when they catch a big fish for the first time!

So those are a few highlights with many more to come, but just wanted to start with a few snipits to intrigue you. Of course, all of the details can be found at www.WaukeshaCountyFair.com. Now thru July 21, tickets to the Fair are $2 off if you buy online or at Waukesha area Pick'n Save stores.
