Netflix Update

I still haven't gotten cable in my condo and I think I actually like the fact that I'm not glued to my TV to watch the most current shows. I catch up online or on Netflix when I have time.

So here is an update on shows I have watched on Netflix:

Chuck - recommended by my friend Tory and tho comically cheesy at times, I became a big fan. And the lead girl's name is Sarah! (Zachary Levi was so cute and geeky - Loved him)

House of Cards - this season was darker than last so it took a bit more for me to stay with it this time but excited for next season.

Orange is the New Black - Completely and totally binge-watched the 2nd season. This was another amazing season and will waiting as patiently as I can for Season 3.

Scandal - I'm caught up except for the current season. I am a fan!

Friday Night Lights- Also recommended by Tory - I LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS SHOW. It's from the creators of Parenthood so duh! It's a heart tugger. I'm sad it was cancelled yet I never watched it when it was actually on. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts - that's all I have to say!  (Zach Gilford - super crush on this guy!)

Sons of Anarchy - I am on season 5 and had to take a break. It's really intense and its hard to believe bike clubs can do what this one does. It's almost like there are too many killings going on to keep me wanting to watch. I just heard a spoiler tho, so I'll have to watch the next to find out what happened. (Charlie Hunnam = yummy!)

Prison Break - stumbled across this one and decided to give it a try. Wentworth Miller has perfected the whisper talk and I lost interest for a few episodes but I would be a liar if I said I didn't cry thru the last few episodes. I became attached to the characters so that's a sign of a good show to me.

Up next:
Once Upon A Time - I used to watch this regularly and then without a DVR, it's hard to keep up, so I'm catching up now.

Sherlock- recommended to me by a reader and I trust their suggestion so I'll give it a shot.

Weeds - so much talk about the show I have to try it.

Friends - New Years Day 2015 it comes to Netflix. can I just say "Pivot!" And "could I BE anymore excited?"

Not on Netflix I am watching Chicago Fire, (Leiutenant Casey is a hottie!) The Biggest Loser and Parenthood on NBC.com

I did get my Nintendo NES (yes we are talking 80s version) hooked up to my TV this week so there may be a little delay in the show catchup because I want to beat Dr. Mario and Mario Bros. 3 again!
Made it from Level 1 - 18 on my first try in probably 3 years!

Still remembered all the hidden things playing this for the first time in years!

So that's the update! I'll gladly take other suggestions you may have and if there are any current shows I need to make time for, let me know.

100 Happy Days: Week 3

I had a little numbering issue and double numbered one day - but I'm back on track now. Here is Week 2 and Week 1

Day 16:
Took in the sites from Lapham and we were hoping for more pops of color but just a few so far. Sun is setting earlier, making the narrow wooded trails hard to see, but we pushed ourselves harder than ever before and conquered some amazing hills. It felt great.

Day 17:
Had a weeknight girls night and got to sip wine from some fancy glasses while catching up on life.

Day 18:
Currently I'm reading Book 2 in a YA series. This is called The Off Season by Catherine Gilbert Murdock. It's a light easy read and I'm glad that I am taking time each night for books.

Day 19:
I love having friends over to watch Packer games. I hosted a baked potato bar and it was a as huge of a hit as some of those the Packers were laying down on the Vikings. Never a doubt they would pull out this win, but never thought the spread would be so large!

Day 20:
When I have no other plans or just want a night in, watching Netflix has become the norm. Currently watching the Prison Break series with the occasional retro Disney movie thrown in.

Day 21:
My friends surprised me with a birthday cake at a get-together and they all sang and almost lit the house on fire with all those candles! But I love them and thank them so much for their friendship!

Day: 22
I cannot thank everyone enough for the calls, texts and messages wishing me a happy birthday. I feel so blessed to have so many people in my life and had such a wonderful day!   ‪#‎100happydays‬ ‪#‎day22‬

It was my birthday and I couldn't find the perfect photo to capture all the elements of the day - so I just thanked everyone for their love!

TV Shows on Netflix

Since moving into my condo, I decided to not get cable as I feel I don't need to spend my entire weekly evenings glued to the television. Sure there are a few shows that I am bummed I won't be able to see the first week they air unless watching it live (Revenge, Grey's). And I will miss my AMC, but I am not opposed to catching up by purchasing those shows (Walking Dead, Mad Men).

Anyways, I do have Netflix streaming and am very curious about RedBox's offerings. And the Waukesha Library has a ton of series, but I just have to get better at returning them on time so I'm not renting from the library and just checking them out. :)

Here is a list of series I have watched from start to finish and my thoughts on them.

How I Met Your Mother -- This is probably my favorite sitcom currently that I can watch from start to finish. (Big Band Theory is a very close second). I'm sad it's ending but catching up was so fun. I can relate to the lead character Ted as I never seem to be able to find love but I know it's out there for me.

Dexter -- Evil-doing with a twist. Dexter only kills bad people and the plots of each season are really well thought out.

Flashpoint -- A series I found on an ION network marathon and decided to watch from start to finish. I was really sad when the show was over as I connected with some of the characters. It's about the tactical police squad and the crazy situations they have to deal with.

Six Feet Under -- (Not on Netflix but I got it at the library) Great show about a funeral home family.

Pushing Daisies -- (Also available to stream on Netflix, borrowed from a friend) hmm a lot of my shows have to deal wth death but this one is actually really fun about a guy that can get final answers from those that have passed but only for a short period of time.

Breaking Bad -- Just started but it's good already!

Freaks and Geeks -- good series about growing up in the 80s. I can definitely relate to the characters and their issues.

Orange is the New Black -- Season one complete and can't wait for season two. A woman makes a mistake 10 years earlier and ends up in prison serving her sentence for it with the woman that got her in trouble.

Arrested Development -- Got a few seasons in and lost interest. Awkwardly funny.

Mad Men -- No matter what anyone else says, I LOVE this series. I work in advertising so it's great to see how it used to work back in the 60s. There is only one season left, but it is going to stretch over 2 years like the Breaking Bad finale. Season 7 premieres April 13!!!!

Pretty Little Liars -- Guilty pleasure series. I watch it when I can.

Those are what I can remember and here's the list of what else I want to watch:

Weeds
Chuck
House of Cards
The Following
Scandal
Friday Night Lights
Sons of Anarchy

Any other suggestions gladly appreciated!!! :)
